Sources and supported checks
Evidence review: October 31, 2026. These sources inform the limited optional JLCPCB basic profile. No manufacturer affiliation, endorsement or manufacturing approval is claimed.
Official file preparation references
- JLCPCB: Bill of Materials for PCB Assembly. BOM field guidance and reference identity.
- JLCPCB: Pick & Place File for PCB Assembly. Placement field and unit conventions.
- JLCPCB: Recommendations for BOM / CPL File Preparation. Reference consistency and per-row bounds.
Supported local input
UTF-8 comma-separated text with a header and at least one data row. Quotes, doubled quotes and quoted multiline fields are supported. Duplicate or empty headers and uneven row lengths are rejected. Local file selection is bounded at 2 MB; pasted text at 2,000,000 characters. Each table is limited to 5,000 data rows, 80 columns and 16,384 characters per field. Combined reference expansion is limited to 20,000 entries, with 1,000 entries per ascending range.
References use letters followed by digits. Only BOM rows may group references. Population, quantity, coordinate and layer rules are described in the worked guides. XLS, XLSX, native CAD, Gerber and decimal-comma placement formats are unsupported. A manufacturer may accept formats this tool does not read.
Profile boundary
Factory-neutral mode applies consistency checks without promising uploader compatibility. JLCPCB basic mode adds exact original header names and required non-empty cells, aligned mappings, millimeter selection, Top/Bottom layers, case consistency and the per-BOM-row designator bound. It is a subset, not a complete conformance test.
The official sources describe capitalization differently. The basic profile conservatively flags unequal case as a blocker. Range expansion supports local comparison; it does not certify range syntax for submission. Rotation checks concern finite numbers and review intervals only, not a footprint's actual orientation.
Evidence and output
Issues carry a source file label, physical starting line, code, severity and explanation. CSV downloads include every issue; JSON also includes units, profile, mappings, totals and limits. No original file is changed. A clean consistency report does not replace CAD, factory preview or manufacturing review.
